CHISPA Arizona
CHISPA Arizona is a program the League of Conservation Voters, focused on growing the political engagement of the Latino community, particularly on environmental issues. This group opposes the use of natural gas in Arizona for both home use and power generation. They have also taken positions hostile to nuclear and hydroelectric power.
It is not a locally-grown, grass roots organization as it presents itself. But rather a conduit for out-of-state money from hard to identify donors. Their community engagement efforts mask a political agenda that does not reflect the interests or values of Arizonans.
OVERVIEW
FUNDING
CHISPA Arizona is anything but homegrown. Funding for the operation of their organization comes from the League of Conservation Voters. However, LCV does not disclose how much funding they pass through to their Arizona affiliate. CHISPA Arizona is merely a DBA of LCV which is an organization that brought in over $67 million in 2023. It is by no means run by individual Arizona donations.
CHISPA AZ PAC spent nearly $3.5 Million in the 2024 election cycle on independent expenditures supporting Democratic candidates. The majority of this funding came from the League of Conservation Voters which is funded by national groups and individuals driven by the green agenda (see above).
Electioneering
CHISPA Arizona uses emotional arguments and theatrical tactics to get their point across, hoping their audiences won’t notice the impracticality of their ideas, which would in fact harm the very populations they claim to be advocating for. Below is just a small sampling of the same.
ADVOCACY
